The men beside Jesus on the cross didn't believe in Him-- well, one of them didn't. The other asked to be remembered by Jesus, and Jesus tells Him, "today you will be with Me in Paradise." The thief who had stolen, who had done wrong, who had every reason to not be in Paradise, sees Jesus for who He is and what He can do. And Jesus saves Him.
What a great reminder that Jesus has grace and mercy and forgiveness for everyone, no matter who they are.
